Imperfect Produce
Imperfect Produce just arrived in Kansas City for delivery this past week. We were intrigued by the idea after seeing a few advertisements but were extremely impressed after trying it ourselves.
The concept is taking “ugly” produce that wouldn’t sell at groceries stores (but is perfectly yummy) and delivering it straight to your door for a cheaper price. It reduces waste and they also partner with local food pantries.. in Kansas City, they partner with Harvesters which we think is pretty cool.
Their boxes are anywhere from $15 to $43 dollars depending on the size. Here you can find the size that is right for you. Be warned.. the extra large box is a HUGE amount of food.
We decided to grill some zucchini the first night. We chopped them up, covered them in olive oil and everything seasoning (and on a different point, if you’ve never had everything seasoning, I highly recommend).
To go along with our grilling, we made a mango, peach and lime slushy with some vodka for us but if that’s not your jam, the slushy would be delicious as a morning smoothie. We used 1 mango, 1 peach, juice of 1 lime, about 4 shots of vodka (super guesstimate) and a whole lotta ice.
If you are interested in trying, use our code “taskingkc” for 40% off.. like common.. that’s definitely worth it!
