Place for the Locals - Knuckleheads
Honestly, we stumbled upon Knuckleheads by chance 3 years ago after we’ve moved back to Kansas City post-college. We were trying to find a little boutique in the East bottoms (that I don’t think exists anymore) and instead found the coolest KC hangout.
I’m not really sure how to describe Knuckleheads other than a hole in the wall concert venue that is no where near up to code, serves $1 tacos on Saturdays and $4 tall boy PBRs always (my fiance’s fav) and $4.50 Blue Moons for me.
Its filled with old stadium seats, picnic tables and weird recliners from who knows where. Has mashed together signs from McDonalds and other vendors. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a summer concert or hang during the day.
Until recently, we actually had never even attended a concert there. Our favorite time to patron Knuckleheads is on perfect fall Saturday afternoons when it’s about 65 degrees and sunny. They have live jams every weekend so there’s always live music but we enjoy grabbing beer and $1 tacos and sitting outside to watch the trains pass. The conductors always wave to you and honk the horn when you give them the signal (we know, we’re basically 10 years old).
We did however, finally make it to a concert and had just as good of time. Check out here for their concert listings. LINK.
